“What’s an ‘oatie’?” you ask. Well, actually, I just made up that name. It’s essentially a smoothie that uses oats instead of banana to make it thicker. I’ve paired the oats with apple and dates to get a fruity caramel flavour, plus the added ice makes it more like a smoothie.
Salted Caramel Apple Oatie
- 100g your favourite sweet apple (inducing the skin)
- 15g almond butter
- 10g flax seeds
- 1-2 large dates
- 10ml oat milk
- 6 ice cubes
- Pinch of rock salt
- OPTIONAL: a sprinkle of cinnamon, ginger and/or nutmeg
Place all of the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth.
Decorate if desired.
