Salted Caramel Apple Oatie

“What’s an ‘oatie’?” you ask. Well, actually, I just made up that name. It’s essentially a smoothie that uses oats instead of banana to make it thicker. I’ve paired the oats with apple and dates to get a fruity caramel flavour, plus the added ice makes it more like a smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 100g your favourite sweet apple (inducing the skin)
  • 15g almond butter
  • 10g flax seeds
  • 1-2 large dates
  • 10ml oat milk
  • 6 ice cubes
  • Pinch of rock salt
  • OPTIONAL: a sprinkle of cinnamon, ginger and/or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Place all of the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth.

  2. Decorate if desired.
