Raw Chocolate Orange Brownies

You simply cannot go wrong with chocolate and orange together! I love the consistency of these brownies they are super dense and gooey and the flavors are just divine. The brownies are of course vegan, raw and they are free from any added refined sugars. Being raw mean no cooking involved and you will only need to place them in the freezer.

These brownies can be enjoyed as a treat after your meal or you can add them to you lunch box for work.

Ingredients

  • 500g pitted dates
  • 150g raw cashew nuts
  • 3 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp raw agave nectar
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • zest & juice from two oranges

Instructions

  1. Place the raw cashew nuts in your blender or food processor and pulse until ground; follow by adding the remaining ingredients.

  2. Pulse until the ingredients combine together and achieve a gooey and sticky dough.

  3. Using a tray lined with cling film, pour the sticky dough over the tray and distribute evenly (top tip – press the mixture with wet hands, wetting your hands will allow you to distribute the dough evenly without sticking it to your fingers).

  4. Place in the freezer for approximately 2 hours to allow the brownies to firm, remove from the freezer allow it to defrost and slice into squares.

  5. Sprinkle with extra orange zest and dust with cacao powder.

  6. Enjoy!
