Ruth Crump

After being diagnosed with coeliac disease and IBS, I had to completely overhaul my diet. I found that the majority of gluten-free food on offer was tasteless, stodgy and full of sugar. I was eventually forced to embark on the low FODMAP diet, which meant I had to make even more changes to my diet. After a short while I became disillusioned with the tasteless, stodgy and sugar-laden foods available to me, so I decided to create my own.

I started sharing my story and recipes via my website Nutritiously Naughty, which focuses on Coeliac-friendly gluten-free, refined sugar-free, low FODMAP recipes. I now enjoy creating healthy ‘free-from’ recipes to show people that eliminating certain foods from your diet does not have to affect how well you eat! I have since branched out into freelance recipe development where I have had the chance to work with some of my favourite brands!
I have recently released a recipe book providing simple and affordable free-from recipes for people with digestive disorders, as well as those interested in eating delicious healthy food. You can find this here.

Ruth Loves:

Ruth Hates:

  • running out of food

I became a food blogger because:
After being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease and IBS I found it hard to find healthy options that excluded all the foods I can’t eat. I decided to start creating my own recipes and wanted to share them on my blog to help others who might be struggling to eat healthily post-diagnosis.

Favourite recipe:
my peppermint truffle squares!

Because:
As a massive chocoholic I love creating anything indulgent that involves cacao powder so wanted to create a different take on chocolate truffles. These are one on my most popular recipes according to my taste testers!
