This chocolate berry milkshake has a secret ingredient to make it extra creamy and I bet you’ll never guess what it is!
No- it’s not banana. It’s butter beans!
Choco-Berry Smoothie Bowl
You might think it’s weird to add beans to a smoothie but when they are blended up they add a creamy taste and texture. Beans are also a good source of protein to make this smoothie more filling. Give it a go and see what you think – you could even make it for your family and get them to guess what’s in it.
Top tip: Make sure to rinse the beans well and you won’t be able to taste them.
- 250ml oat milk (or milk of choice)
- 80g frozen blueberries
- 80g strawberries
- 1/2 can (120g) butter beans
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- 1/4 tsp vanilla powder or extract
- 1 date (optional)
- 6 ice cubes
Drain the butter beans and rinse them well.
Choose ‘Blend’ with ‘Auto-iQ Boost’.
Once the smoothie has blended pour it into a bowl and add toppings of your choice sugar as granola and fresh fruit.
