A delicious and refreshing take on the classic combination of caramel and apple. The juicy apple smoothie is enhanced with a kick of ginger and made more indulgent by the creamy caramel sauce.
Caramel Apple and Blackberry Smoothie Bowl
- 80g ripe banana, frozen
- 125g apple, cored
- 80g courgette
- 45g spinach
- 2cm fresh ginger
- 250ml water (or almond milk for a creamier smoothie)
- 4-6 ice cubes
- Caramel Sauce
- 2 tbsp unsweetened soya yogurt
- 1 tsp coconut nectar*
- Pinch of salt
- Puffed Quinoa
- *This gives the most caramel like taste, but you could use maple syrup instead
Blend together all of the ingredients for the smoothie apart from the ice cubes. Once the ingredients are well combined (after 30-45 seconds) add in the ice and blend again.
Make the caramel sauce by mixing together the yogurt, coconut nectar and salt.
Pour into a bowl, then add the sauce on top and your favourite toppings.
