Banana & Peanut Butter Protein Bread

A deliciously inexpensive, protein banana and peanut butter bread. Shop bought protein treats and snacks can be very expensive and loaded with ingredients that are often unfamiliar to us. Why not just make your own?

Banana & Peanut Butter Protein Bread

  • 180g whole-wheat self-raising flour
  • 75g whey protein
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 3 generous tbsp. peanut butter + extra for topping
  • 50ml honey
  • 80ml coconut oil
  • 80ml almond milk
  • 3 large ripe bananas (2 mushed, 1 slices in half)
Prep Time


  1. Begin by pre-heating the oven to 180C degrees.

  2. Using the bowl of your ninja kitchen and the dough blade, add the flour, whey protein, 3 egg yolks, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, almond milk and the mashed bananas.


    Pulse the ingredients in the Ninja Kitchen system until the ingredients are well combined.

  4. Whisk the 5 egg whites until fluffy, transfer the cake batter from the bowl of the Ninja Kitchen into a large mixing bowl, pour over the egg whites and fold gently.

  5. Pour the cake batter into a greased loaf tin; add the sliced banana on top of the loaf along with a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter.

  6. Place in the oven and bake for approximately 45-55 minutes.

  7. Remove from the oven and allow the loaf to cool.
