Why spend a fortune on protein snacks and treats when you can just make your own at home for a fraction of the price? These flapjacks are packed with protein, no butter or oil needed, as the natural oils from the peanut butter is all the recipe needs. Use these as part of your post-workout routine.

Instructions

  1. Begin by pre-heating the oven to 180C degrees.

  2. Using the bowl of you Ninja Kitchen System and the plastic blade, place the oats, milk, peanut butter, protein, cinnamon and stevia direct into the bowl and pulse several times to mix the ingredients together and create the flapjack mixture.

  3. Pour the mixture in a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper, and press down to make sure the flapjacks are even.

  4. Place the thin slices of apple over the flapjack, sprinkle with stevia and cinnamon and place in the oven.

  5. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and allow the flapjacks to cool completely before slicing into squares.

I have always had an interest for the healthy food industry, thehealthybeard started completely out of the blue – I started posting pictures of the breakfasts and desserts that I would make, within weeks my Instagram began to grow and people would ask me for the recipes. In 2014 I decided to quit eating animal based products and follow a plant-based diet and never looked back! My recipes focus on quick and easy plant-based dishes that are accessible to people. I love to inspire and encourage others to follow a healthy lifestyle. You can keep up to date with my recipes via my Blog and Instagram.
